UKRAINIAN HIT MEN KIDNAPPED LEADERS OF THE PRORYV

Special Ukrainian units OMON kidnapped Saturday two leaders of the “Proryv” (Breakthrough), the Sevastopol-based youth organisation. In two separate incidents, Alexei Dobychin and Alexandre Dubrovsky were illegally stopped in the streets of Sevastopol and forcefully driven to the Crimean capital of Simferopol for interrogation. Police and secret service SBU denied any involvement in the operation. The relatives of the kidnapped filed papers to the authorities requesting to inivestigate the disappearance of the two young men. The “Proryv” is known for its actions and protests against Ukrainian rule in the Crimea. Friday, the group had dug a trench on the Crimean isthmus to demonstrate that the Crimea is cutting itself off from the mainland Ukraine. This gesture caused fury of home minister Yuri Lutsenko. He ordered to arrest the leaders of the rebellious group. However, Alexei Dobychin and Alexandre Dubrovsky were released on the same day. Their minister’s gesture was in such a contradiction with all existing laws and procedures that even the Crimean justice, totally controlled by Kiev, refused to cooperate with him. Alexei Dobychin and Alexandre Dubrovsky vowed to continue their fight for liberation of the Crimea. On January, 26 they will organise protests in six major Crimean cities to demand that the local deputies adopt a resolution calling Russian President Vladimir Putin to denounce the Friendship Treaty with the Ukraine. Such denunciation, according to the “Proryv”, would providt an opportunity to reconsider the present status of the Crimean peninsula.
